The Power of One
It has been suggested that India has 3 Lakh dentists and by 2020 there will be one-lakh surplus dentists in our country. The dentist to population ratio is skewed because of the dentists’ propensity to work in cities.
Approximately 300-400 pediatric dentists graduate every year and the new generation of pediatric dentists is finding it increasingly difficult to thrive in today’s competitive environs.
This presentation will focus on the reasons why the concept of a pediatric dental practice is still in it’s infancy and also offer some incisive insights into why and how a pediatric practice offers great opportunity and the one critical decision that can make the all-important difference between success and failure!
Biosketch- Sukhdeep Singh
Sukhdeep Singh received his MDS in pediatric dentistry from Bapuji Dental College & Hospital in 1996.
With an experience of more than twenty years and after having worked with various corporate hospitals like Columbia Asia-Bengaluru, Artemis-Gurgaon, Indraprastha Apollo & Max- New Delhi, he established an independent exclusive pediatric dental practice in a mall in North India and nurtured it to success.
He is professor and head, pediatric dentistry at School of Dental Sciences, Sharda University & is a recognized postgraduate teacher and examiner.
He is a founder member of the first center for evidence-based dentistry in India
Dr Sukhdeep is a renowned speaker and has made hundreds of presentations attended by thousands of dentists from Tiruchirapalli in South to Chandigarh in North and from Vadodara in West to Gorakhpur in East. He was recently invited by the Sri Lanka Dental Association to deliver a guest lecture and conduct hands on workshop at the SLDA annual scientific session and FDI global CE program. His interactions are focused on various aspects of pediatric dentistry, practice management & include hands on workshops in pediatric dentistry.
In addition to being a practicing clinician and a teacher he has also worked as the head of professional services for 3M ESPE, India and was a pioneer dentist to work in the corporate world.
He is or has been a key opinion leader/consultant to 3M ESPE, GC India, Oral-B, Procter & Gamble India, JHS Svendgaard & Himalaya Drug Company
